The version I read cancels when you win and adds to the series when you lose. Not that it matters. Both way you will lose money. I just want to mention it for archival sake.

Labouchere: Pick a series of numbers, say 1,2,3,4,5. Your first bet is the total of the two numbers on the end or 1+5=6 units in this case. If you lose it, you DO NOT cancel out anything; just add the loser 6 the end of the series. The series now looks like 1,2,3,4,5,6 and bet the the total of the two numbers on the end 1 and the 6, for a total of SEVEN units bet. Lose that one and you add the seven to the series. DO NOT cancel ANYTHING. If you win that 7, you cancel the first and last number 1 and 6 proceed to bet the the total of the first un-cancelled number 2 and the last uncancelled number 5.
